Sydney alt-pop star merci, mercy has released a new single, ‘Silver Lining’. It’s a spacey track that lets her instantly recognisable voice sit atop verses that showcase a funky drum groove, and a chorus that explodes into life with the help of a pop-punk flavoured guitar riff. In her own words, it's “about having social anxiety and self-medicating yourself, whether that’s with substances and/or people. It also shows someone who is so in love with the habits they use to cope with their mental health that they have forgotten the consequences those habits have on them.” Her third EP, Like An Orchid, drops on November 24th, via Liberation Records. -Dan Peeke
